Literal Search

In my opinion search engines are easy to configure because all you need is a starting point and then the rest is done through software like website crawling. Which is done once a website is posted its meta-tags are then grabbed by a spider (a feature that catches catch phrases about certain sites) and then from there you can build slowly onto the search engine with links, cool features like small software and so forth.
